Conservative Media: The Wall Street Journal

Posted in Conservative Media with tags , on September 16, 2009 by Josh Wittner

The Wall Street Journal needs very little introduction, as it is world famous for its international business and finance reporting.  Its editorial and opinions pages are what have earned it a reputation as a conservative publication. A paper for business folk leaves little wonder why the opinion tends to swing in their favor, but WSJ has a strong reputation and I intend to give them and their arguments a full shot.

Conservative Media: National Review Online

Posted in Conservative Media with tags , , on September 4, 2009 by Josh Wittner

National Review is a bi-weekly magazine, and this is its online component title National Review Online or NRO.  I’ve just started reading it and have found the articles to be harshly critical of Obama and his administration. From the liberal media I read I often have counters to these critiques, but it points out that my rebuttals are often as shallow as the critiques. I’m enjoying the contrast so far, and will likely find many things to discuss with further perusal.  Keep an eye out for more on this conservative media source.

The wiki for the magazine states:

“[National Review] is usually considered the center of “intellectual” activity for the American Conservative movement in the twentieth century.”

“Prior to National Review’s founding in 1955, some conservatives believed that the American Right was a largely unorganized collection of individuals”
